Jack In The Box probably has the most varied (and sometimes random) menu of all the major fast food chains ranging from their mainstay burgers to Greek-style pitas to Chinese-style egg rolls. It's pretty much your best bet for when you don't know what kind of fast food you feel like plus Jack In The Box is usually open 24 hours. It's no surprise, that they also offer Stuffed Jalapeños, or Jalapeño Poppers, on the menu.
Around these parts, Stuffed Jalapenos are 3 for $1.79 or 7 for $3.19, I got them with a combo though for 40 cents extra. Now Jalapeño Poppers usually come in two varieties: stuffed with cream cheese (like the Jalapeño Bites at Arby's) or stuffed with yellow (usually American, Cheddar, or a blend of both) cheese like at Jack In The Box. I'm not fond of the cream cheese in Jalapeños but I love the yellow!
I'm tempted to get these every time I go to Jack In The Box. I think I just like Stuffed Jalapenos in general but I can't think of any other chain that carries them with yellow cheese off the top of my head.
They're breaded and deep-fried for a nice crunchy crust, a bit like a mozzarella cheese stick but without the cheese stretch and with more flavor. The Jalapeno itself has a nice amount of heat but if it's too much, you can cool off with the included Buttermilk Ranch sauce. The cheese is gooey, melted goodness without being too much.
I highly recommend Jack in the Box's Stuffed Jalapeños unless you don't like cheese or spicy. Keep in mind though, that it is a bit pricey at over 50 cents per Jalapeno.

i actually like the cream cheese better than the cheddar, $1 each seems a bit pricy!
ReplyDeleteBut cheddar is melty and gooey! Cream cheese is just gloppy. It's closer to 60 cents each which is still kinda pricey.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE them with the cheddar...amazing!
