Review: Chick-fil-A - Chicken Biscuit

Chick-fil-A's Chicken Biscuit Sandwich is probably the most prominent of its kind (even prompting a McDonald's knock-off) and features a simple equation of deep-fried chicken breast piece plus buttery biscuit. It is only available for breakfast until 10:30 am and carries a price tag of $2.19.

It seems like it's my imagination, but Chick-fil-A's Chicken Biscuit felt bigger than the McDonald's version; they're both listed at 5 ounces however. While I'm sure there's some variation in sizes from biscuit to biscuit, it felt like a noticeable difference. It has been a while since I've had McDonald's Southern Style Chicken Biscuit though.
Mmmmm... butter...
If you've eaten at Chick-fil-A before, the chicken breast filet is just a smaller portion of the same familiar flavor as Chick-fil-A's Chicken Sandwich. It's perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and fairly juicy (I've always gotten juicy chicken at Chick-fil-A but sometimes it's plain juicy and sometimes it's super juicy). Consistently good quality is a hallmark at Chick-fil-A's that other chains would do well to imitate. Along with In-N-Out, Chick-fil-A is tops in that category among the major fast food chains.
The already buttery biscuit was spread with butter on the inside. I'm not complaining (I loves me some butter!) but it might scare off people. Chick-fil-A bakes their biscuits everyday fresh in-house and they're very good.

My only complaint is that some bites were a little too salty but I'm not surprised as biscuits tend to be one of the saltier breads and the seasoning of the breast filet masks some of the salt. Still, I like Chick-fil-A's Chicken Biscuit very much, it's a shame that it's not offered later in the day. I'm just not a morning person.

  1. Be careful when you bite into a Chick-fil-a chicken sandwich. I recently had the misfortune to bite into a piece of black, porous, charcoal-like material in their sandwich that split my bicuspid tooth through the root. The tooth has to be pulled. Chick-fil-a could not care less!
