Review: McDonald's - Rolo McFlurry

McDonald's Rolo McFlurry is a new, limited-time frosty dessert featuring Rolo-shaped milk chocolate morsels and caramel syrup blended in McFlurry fashion in McDonald's vanilla soft serve.

I picked up a snack-sized portion for $1.79.

Okay, so I was expecting actual Rolo pieces in the McFlurry but ended up with Rolo-shaped chunks of milk chocolate sans caramel centers. I actually sucked on one piece to make sure I wasn't overlooking the caramel somehow but no, it was all chocolate. Disappointment!
I suppose that Rolo caramel doesn't deal well with cold and hardens pretty fast. I've read that Rolo caramel is more liquid in other countries (think Caramello).

The caramel flavor instead comes from the syrup which ran very low as I reach the halfway point leaving me with a bunch of chocolate chunks in half-melted vanilla soft serve. They were actually pretty big chunks if you're worried about getting your money's worth. I'd rather they were smaller and blended better myself.
At the end of the day, I would rather have a McDonald's Hot Fudge & Caramel Sundae (which you McDonald's may or may not make; I've been denied before) for a better mix of chocolate and caramel for a nicer price plus nuts! If we're talking about McFlurries, I still like the Reese's one the best.
