Carl's Jr.'s Oreo Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Sandwich offers a fresher take on the stuff you find in the frozen food aisle with oversized Oreo cookie wafers (around 3" in diameter) sandwiching a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
It carries a suggested price of $1.49 but it's a little pricier in my area at $1.69.
My Oreo Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Sandwich came in one of those resealable plastic baggies they use at some bakeries which is convenient if you want to save some for later but you won't because this was really good!
The Oreo wafers were just slightly softer than a normal Oreo but much more firm than an ice cream sandwich. It actually works out better that it's a little softer as it's not as crumbly than regular Oreo wafers but still exhibit the same great taste.
I was worried that the ice cream might be too hard but it was a perfect consistency; soft but not melting with a creamy vanilla flavor. It was also just the right amount of ice cream. I've had other fresh made ice cream sandwiches where the ice cream is too hard and it ends up being more like cookies and ice cream rather than an ice cream sandwich.
The result between the two is more than I could have hoped in an Oreo ice cream sandwich! The cookies cradle the ice cream just so and the combination of the two is just super great!

Do they actually make these to order, or are they pre-packaged?
ReplyDeleteSuper great? i thought it was just okay. The cookie was a little too chewy.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good! And it's nice to know that it's different from the Oreo Cookie Sandwiches (which I also happen to love) that come in the cute little blue wrapper. I honestly thought that Carl's Jr. was just selling those, lol.
ReplyDeleteEither or, the nutrition stats aren't that bad. Yeah, there's sugar and fat but you're dealing with ice cream.. that's to be expected. Even then, those numbers aren't too off the charts; and 250 calories seems pretty nice to me! You get a decent amount of ice cream and two of those awesome cookies. Sign me up. :D
They're made in-house but I'm guessing probably in batches as mine came out of the freezer.
ReplyDeleteIt is delicious. I am hooked on the oreo ice cream sandwich.
