It's a bit smaller than a Crunchwrap Supreme, but a bit thicker as well. It's just the right size to eat with one hand.
Lacking the crunchy tostada shell of its second-to-fourth meal counterpart, the A.M. Crunchwrap instead relies on pressed, thin, crispy tortilla sear that gives way to the soft warm layer of tortilla underneath. It's pretty satisfying.
All the ingredients were well-harmonized and no one ingredient overpowered the rest, from the gooey cheese, to the slightly-crispy hash brown, to the crispy bacon pieces.
Here's what made it really great though: while it wasn't listed anywhere in Taco Bell's description of the A.M. Crunchwrap, there was a smoky chipotle-like sauce in both bacon and sausage versions of the Crunchwrap that I tried. And. It. Was. Awesome! I don't know if it was there by design or by mistake, but it really set the A.M. Crunchwrap apart from other fast food breakfast offerings.
So yeah. If you're near one of the 815 or so Taco Bell locations serving First Meal, try it and let me know what you think. I need to know if I'm just imagining this awesome goodness (I hope not!) or I guess I can always just go eat another one.
