It costs slightly less than the Asiago Ranch at $3.69.
The only differences between the Smoky Honey Mustard version and the Asiago Ranch flatbread sandwich are the different sauces and that the Asiago Ranch has bacon and cheese in it.
The Smoky Honey Mustard is a pleasant lightly flavored sauce that tastes like a blend of honey mustard and a tangy barbecue sauce. I quite like the flavor; it's not too heavy and is well-balanced i.e. not "too" anything.
The flatbread was nutty with crunchy grains and soft and chewy otherwise. It "feels" pretty healthy compared to your typical hamburger bun. The crunchiness adds a nice texture.
On this occasion, my chicken was a little dry, but more plentiful than when I had the Asiago Ranch version.
The greens were a fresh, quality mix with zero filler iceberg lettuce to be found. The taste of the various leafy greens were subtle but noticeable.
It all comes together rather well and, overall, Wendy's Smoky Honey Mustard Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich is a really good sandwich and, while I love bacon, I prefer the better-balanced Smoky Honey Flatbread over the stronger flavors of the Asiago Ranch.
I can see Wendy's adding Flatbreads as a permanent platform, especially as fast food companies push to provide healthier (or at least, seemingly healthy) options that their customers will actually want to buy.

Flatbread looks repulsive. Anyhow, who goes to Wendy's for flatbread?
ReplyDeleteMy friend..it may look repulsive to you..Ive had this particular sandwich 3 times and I love it...it is really really really good...at least to me..the flatbread was fine
ReplyDeleteSeems like a lot of sodium for a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteI had this sandwich and I loved it. The chicken is nice and tender and the flavors go well together. I recommend this sandwich to anyone who likes flatbreads.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually on the low side. Sandwiches tend to be made with cured meats which are high in salt. If you look at the nutrition any Panera or Subway sandwich, you'll likely find higher sodium counts. Basically, most sandwiches will have more salt than you think.
ReplyDeleteWhere's teh chicken - my sandwitch looked awful - should have eaten the picture
ReplyDeleteI love these! I eat them 3 times a week at least! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm eating two right now actually. :)
ReplyDeleteI did not care for the flatbread. Could only eat half. I ordered without sauce since I never get sauce in anything. So for the chicken and lettuce it was good.
ReplyDeleteJust tried this flatbread sandwich today, and I thought it was excellent!!! I would definitely suggest trying this item! Delicious!!!
