Review: Nabisco - Cookie Dough Oreo Cookies

Cookie Dough Oreos are one of two new limited-time flavors for the number-one selling cookie in the US (the other is Marshmallow Crispy). It features chocolate wafers sandwiching chocolate chip cookie dough-flavored creme.

For whatever reason, they come in 12.2-ounce packages rather than the standard 15.25 of other Oreo flavors. You can expect to find them for $2.99 each, but I received these from Nabisco.

The wafers are the same crispy chocolate wafers of your standard Oreo.

The creme initially delivers on the cookie dough taste but then it goes south with a weird, somewhat-maple syrup-like finish.

The odd thing about these are that the "chocolate chips" aren't actually chips. They appear to be chocolate-flavored creme with an irregular distribution in the cookie dough creme to resemble chocolate chips. The chocolate flavor is hard to distinguish over the chocolate Oreo wafer and the creme.

Overall, Cookie Dough Oreos didn't quite hit the mark for me. The "chocolate chips" were superfluous and the weird aftertaste of the cookie dough-flavored creme was off-putting.
