Review: Nabisco - Marshmallow Crispy Oreos

Marshmallow Crispy Oreos is one of two new flavors for the iconic cookie (the other is Cookie Dough). Each cookie features a marshmallow-flavored cream mixed with small granules of crisped rice and sandwiched between two Golden Oreo wafers.

A 12.2-ounce package retails for about $2.99 but I received these courtesy of Nabisco.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was that the creme looked fluffier somehow. Sure enough, the marshmallow-flavored creme was a less dense version of the standard Oreo vanilla creme.

Beyond delivering somewhat of a marshmallow feel, I would guess that the fluffier creme makes it easier to mix in the crisped rice bits. They're like mini versions of crisped rice cereal. There's just enough of them in each cookie to lend that familiar airy crispiness.

Overall, between the crisped rice and the creme, Marshmallow Crispy Oreos really do taste like Rice Crispy Treats... er, marshmallow crispies. That being said, the flavor is still a lot like Golden Oreos with added texture, which is pretty good!

Just for fun, I also made some variants...
