An 8" regular sub was selling for $7.79 at a local Quiznos but I received this one courtesy of the company.
Oddly, the pulled pork was cubed rather than pulled and had a very strong porky taste. It wasn't very smoky though, and the BBQ sauce comes separate from it rather than mixed together the way a lot of fast food chain do it.
The BBQ sauce was slightly spicy, slightly, sweet, and pretty tangy. That was further amplified by the yellow mustard and pickles, both of which there were plenty. It felt closer to a Cubano (Cuban sandwich) rather than a barbecue sandwich.
The cheese felt like a bit of a waste. It appeared to be natural cheese (as opposed to processed), but was mostly lost over the sandwich's tangy trio.
The bread was nicely toasted, soft, and thin. Like the pork, mustard, and pickles, it would do very nicely as part of a Cubano.
Overall, Quizno's Southern BBQ Pulled Pork Sub didn't really feel like barbecue nor pulled pork to me. If you want more of a barbecue sandwich vibe, I'd request it without the mustard and have them add onions. It would also make for a pretty nice Cubano if you ask them to forgo the barbecue sauce and add ham and Swiss cheese. But as it comes by default, I wasn't really feeling it.
