News: Subway - July 2014 Featured $5 Footlong

It looks like Subway's Featured $5 Footlong is still on hiatus for July 2014. Like last month, they're once again offering a $6 Footlong Special and a $3 Six-Inch Select. For July, the $6 Footlong Special is the BBQ Oven Roasted Chicken Melt and the $3 Six-Inch Select is the Spicy Italian.

The BBQ Oven Roasted Chicken Melt (AKA the Oven Roasted Chicken with BBQ sauce) features oven roasted chicken, barbecue sauce with a shredded blend of Monterey Jack and Cheddar (or whatever cheese you like), and your standard choice of bread, veggies, and condiments.

The Spicy Italian features a base of pepperoni and salami plus your standard choice of bread, cheese, veggies, and condiments.

Beside promoting avocado for the summer, Subway is going with a barbecue theme this month with the BBQ Steak and Bacon Melt (AKA the Steak with BBQ sauce and bacon) and the return of the Applewood Pulled Pork sub (review).

The incredible shrinking national $5 Footlong menu is now down to three: the BLT, Veggie Delite, and Egg & Cheese (the Cold Cut Combo got das boot).

Also new this month, Subway is launching a instant win game with a tie-in to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Game codes can be found on their 30-oz cups. Prizes include free subs and movie tickets.

Finally, for the kids, there's Guardians of the Galaxy reusable backpacks with every Kids Meal.
