Dreyer's / Edy's Churns Up New Frozen Custard

Nestle-owned Dreyer's and Edy's brands now offer new Frozen Custard, which they describe as "rich, extra thick, and creamy." The packaging also notes that the Frozen Custard is made with fresh milk and no artificial flavors.

The new frozen dessert comes in six flavors: Chocolate Malt, Mint Cookies 'N Cream, Old Fashioned Vanilla, Peanut Butter Pie, Salted Caramel Pretzel, and Snickerdoodle.

Compared to their regular Dreyer's/Edy's Grand line, the Frozen Custard's main difference is that they include egg yolks. They seem to be thicker and heavier with 210 calories per 1/2 cup serving of the vanilla flavor (compared to 140 calories per 1/2 cup of their vanilla ice cream).

The new line was spotted on the shelves of Target by The Impulsive Buy in quarts at $3.89 each. Dreyer's / Edy's Frozen Custards look to be available nationwide (Target stores appear to be your best bet currently).
