Taco Bell Testing "Throwback Burritos" Including the Return of the Beefy Crunch Burrito

Taco Bell is testing the return of two "Throwback Burritos," including the Flamin' Hot Fritos-laced Beefy Crunch Burrito out in Louisville, Kentucky as part of a $2 deal that pairs either burrito with a medium drink.

The other burrito under consideration for a return is the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito.

The Beefy Crunch Burrito features features a flour tortilla wrapped around a filling of Flamin' Hot Fritos corn chips, seasoned ground beef, seasoned rice, reduced-fat sour cream, and nacho cheese.

The original Cheesy Double Beef Burrito was a simple affair with a double helping of seasoned beef and nacho cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. This updated version throws seasoned rice into the mix.

The burritos were spotted in Louisville by a commenter on Reddit.

In particular, the Beefy Crunch Burrito enjoys a McRib-like popularity. There's a fan group, the Beefy Crunch Movement, that lobbies for its permanent return. The group's Facebook page has collected 17,000 likes so far. Apparently, a number of fans are driving a few hundred miles to get their Beefy Crunch fix.
