Pillsbury Now Making Their Cookie and Brownie Doughs Safe to Eat Raw

Pillsbury is in the midst of changing their line of refrigerated cookie and brownie doughs so that they're safe to eat raw.

The recipes remain the same but they're moving to use heat-treated flour and pasteurized egg for the doughs so that they're safe to eat baked or raw.

The safe-to-eat-raw doughs are marked by a "safe to eat raw" seal on each package.

The change should save you a bit of money over edible cookie doughs, which are made specifically for snacking and are generally not made for baking. It does not apply to their baking mixes and other refrigerated baking products.
