The Chocomania specialty dozen normally costs $24.99 near me, but I received this courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
While Krispy Kreme normally offers chocolate icing, the Hershey's version has a stronger, slightly richer chocolate flavor. As such, all of the donuts had a decent chocolate note.
The new Hershey's Chocolate Salted Caramel Cheesecake Donut is a shell donut filled with Hershey's caramel cheesecake-flavored Kreme, dipped in Hershey's milk chocolate icing, sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumbs, and finished with a salted caramel swirl. There was a creaminess to the Kreme filling with a mild note of caramel, while the cookie crumbs added an extra note of chocolate and a grainy texture. The salted caramel swirl seemed mostly for looks than anything.
The new Hershey's Chocolate Buttercreme Donut features a ring donut dipped in Hershey's milk chocolate icing and topped with chocolate-flavored buttercreme and semi-sweet chocolate curls. Between the bettercreme and chocolate curls (mine came with mini chocolate chips though), this donut was the most chocolaty and rich of the bunch.
The new Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookie Donut takes an Original Glazed Donut and dips it in salted cookie dough-flavored icing, tops it with chocolate chip cookie pieces, Hershey's mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, and a drizzle of Hershey's milk chocolate icing. I didn't pick up much on the salted cookie dough flavor of the icing, but there were plenty of chocolate chip cookie pieces atop the donut. Both the texture and taste of the cookie pieces came through and did nothing to discredit the "chocolate chip cookie donut" name.
The Hershey's Classic Chocolate Donut is an Original Glazed Donut topped with Hershey's milk chocolate icing and a chocolate swirl. This one was the most basic (or classic, I suppose) of the set. It's a slightly more chocolaty version of Krispy Kreme's regular Chocolate Iced Donut and, accordingly, I liked it slightly more.
Of the four donuts in Krispy Kreme's 2025 Chocomania collection, my favorites were the Hershey's Chocolate Buttercreme Donut as the most chocolaty donut and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Donut as it really delivered on the cookie portion.
