Review: Taco Bell Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders

Taco Bell's Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders next to a quarter.

Taco Bell's Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders feature grilled marinated steak, Creamy Chipotle sauce, pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, and a mini tostada shell folded into a hexagon inside of a flour tortilla and grilled. They come two to an order with new Green Chile Queso on the side for dipping.

I paid $5.49 for the Crunchwrap Sliders and they came in the same pouch as an order of Cinnamon Twists. They were pretty small.

Picking one up, I found it disappointingly light. Biting into it yielded mostly the taste of Creamy Chipotle sauce and pico de gallo with a milder contribution from the steak and cheese. Texture-wise, the mini tostada shell offered a weaker crunch than its bigger counterpart in a regular Crunchwrap Supreme. There was also a bit of a spaghetti string feel from an oddly plentiful amount of unmelted shredded cheddar.

The Green Chile Queso was creamy with a light heat but was otherwise lacking in flavor. It was overshadowed by the Creamy Chipotle when the two met. I prefer Taco Bell's regular nacho cheese sauce over it.

Overall, Taco Bell's Steak & Queso Crunchwrap Sliders felt like a lesser version of the Crunchwrap Supreme. It managed to offer less filling, less taste, and more tortilla. For the price, it didn't feel like much food at all.
