Review: Chick-fil-A - Chicken Sandwich

According to Wikipedia, Chick-fil-A's founder, S. Truett Cathy, is credited with creating and inventing the chicken sandwich. A seasoned, breaded chicken breast is served simply on a toasted, buttered bun with two dill pickle slices. Story has it that it's served with only pickles as a condiment because it was the only condiment Cathy had on hand when he made the sandwich. McDonald's Southern Style Chicken Sandwich is a direct response to Chick-fil-A's Chicken Sandwich via a nearly two year effort by The Greater Atlanta's McDonald's Operators Association.

Regrettably, I've never actually been to Chick-fil-A as the nearest one is quite aways out in Cerritos where I almost never venture. I think there used to be a location at the Cal State Los Angeles food court, but that when I was in high school and the food court has since been remodeled and replaced with new vendors. Luckily, my brother was kind enough to bring me back a sandwich from a work trip in Texas. It comes in a foil-lined bag which meant it was a bit squished and steamed by its own heat.
So where are the pickles?! They're actually underneath the patty and I forgot to take a picture. The patty still has quite a bit of crispness to it despite ahd long trip and bag steaming. It's about the same size at the McDonald's version but a little bit cheaper; I believe my brother said it was about $2.50.
Like the McDonald's version, I didn't really taste any butter. It's close but I like the seasoning and crispness of the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich a bit more. If there was one nearby, I would definitely go, but I think the McDonald's Southern Chicken Style Sandwich makes for a fine substitute for the original.
