Surprisingly, these shrimp are not the normal shrimpy shrimp normally associated with fast food; they are fairly normal-sized: about 2" long. In a single entree box, you get about 6 to 8 shrimp. If you're going to get them, your best value is just getting a plate and swinging for the $1 upcharge.
So how does it taste? Very good actually! I don't normally eat shrimp outside of egg rolls and dim sum but these are quite good. If you like getting honey walnut shrimp at Chinese restaurants, but don't care for the mayo, these are right up your alley. They have just the right balance of honey sweetness and the tempura batter while not crispy, adds a different texture to the mix. The shrimp itself had a good shrimp flavor and wasn't dry at all. The walnuts were crunchy and had a nice caramelized sweetness to them.
If you like shrimp, Panda Express's Honey Walnut Shrimp are definitely worth a try. Especially, if you don't care for mayo.
