Taco Bell introduced two items today:
Tortadas and
Limeade Sparklers.
The name "Tortada" appears to be a combination of "torta" and "tostada." Tortadas are available in two varieties: Bacon Ranch and Salsa Roja. They are priced at
$3.29 at my local Taco Bell (price may vary with location).
The
Bacon Ranch Tortada features avocado ranch dressing, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, bits of bacon, southwest-marinated chicken breast (seasoned with garlic powder, "spices," chili pepper, and paprika among other things), wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled crispy.
The Salsa Roja Tortada features the same chicken and lettuce but differs in having a blend of three cheeses (mozzarella, pepper jack, and Cheddar), Fiesta Salsa (tomatoes, onions, and cilantro), and salsa rojas (red sauce).
The
Limeade Sparklers come in two flavors: classic (i.e. regular limeade) and cherry. Both features a blend of Sierra Mist and cherry limeade or limeade poured over ice and garnished with a "REAL lime wedge" (because there are fake lime wedges out there?). Limeade Sparklers come in 16- and 20-ounce cup sizes and are priced at
$1.69 and
$1.99 respectively.
