Review: Domino's - Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes

Domino's Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes box
One of a few desserts available at Domino's Pizza, Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes are baked in the pizza oven so that they're crunchy on the outside with gooey, liquid chocolate on the inside.  They're then dusted with powdered sugar and sold at a price of $3.99 for two cakes.

I wasn't expecting much from Domino's Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes, but was surprised to find that they're actually pretty good.  They taste like a freshly baked Oreo cookie but with warm, thick, sweet chocolaty syrup in the center instead of vanilla cream.  If you've had a good, deep-fried Oreo before, the inside is a bit like that; soft and warm.

The crust was very crunchy but quickly gave way to a warm, soft interior.  On the downside, they're a bit on the small side for the price; probably about 2- to 2 1/2-inches in diameter.

Still, Domino's Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes are my pick for the best dessert on Domino's menu but you can get eight deep-fried apple pies at KFC for the same price!
