The Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar Grilled Sandwich features roast turkey deli meat slices, bacon strips, and Cheddar cheese with a sun-dried tomato sauce on grilled artisan bread. It carries a suggested price of $3.99.
Pluses. I liked the artisan bread though it could stand to be a little thicker; it was grilled to a nice buttery crust. It does go soft quickly if you get it to-go though.
The sandwich itself had a good heft to it and should be filling for most eaters.
The Cheddar cheese was gooey and melted. It had an nice egg-yolk orange color and imparted a fair amount of flavor. The sun-dried tomato sauce was tart and tangy with a bit of sweetness.
Minuses. A big minus would have to be that the sandwich is really salty. Specifically, the turkey deli meat is very salty. It's salty to the tune of over 2000mg of sodium which is almost the daily recommended intake of salt. There was a nice amount of turkey but I really wish that it wasn't so salty. I really should have just pulled most of the slices of turkey out for a more enjoyable eating experience.
Another minus would be the lack of bacon flavor that is common in fast food. The lack of flavor was such that you really wouldn't miss it if there weren't any bacon in the sandwich.
Overall, I think I'd rather just get a Grilled Cheese off of Jack's menu than the Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar Grilled Sandwich.
