Review: Chick-fil-A - Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich
After much ado and free sandwiches (by reservation only!), Chick-fil-A's Spicy Chicken Sandwich has finally landed on the Chick-fil-A's menu. Of course, since they were test-marketed in southern California, I've tried several of them before the official launch.

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is priced at $2.99 and is dressed simply with dill pickle slices on a toasted, buttered bun. Like the Chicken Sandwich, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is also available in a Deluxe version with Pepper Jack cheese, green leaf lettuce, and a slice of tomato for 60 cents extra at $3.59.

While, I've never done a side-by-side comparison, The Spicy Chicken Sandwich just tastes like a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich except with a moderate amount of spicy heat to it. It's also slighter redder, a visual cue that warns off the spicy-intolerant.

Like every Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich I've had, the chicken breast patty is thick, tender, and juicy, the breading is well-seasoned and crunchy. It remains crunchy even if you let the sandwich sit for a while in its foil bag. The bun is squishy soft and has a nice slightly buttery taste.

If I had to choose between Chick-fil-A's Chicken Sandwich and their new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, my choice would vary depending on time and day. Some days I prefer something spicy, and other days I want something more mellow. You really can't go wrong with either.
