Claim Jumper's Chicken Pot Pie frozen dinner weighs in at a hefty 18 ounces (more than enough for two people) and features a flaky pie crust filled with the typical filling of chicken, peas, carrots, celery, and potatoes. They're usually around $4, but I got this one on sale for $1.50 on a particularly cheap sale at Ralph's.
Do be careful when you're cooking the pie in the microwave as they tend to spill out a bit. The box also tends to stick to the microwave or plate leaving sticky paper residue. I would recommend placing the box on some paper napkins before cooking.
Out of the microwave, you might want to break the crust a bit and let it cool ten minutes or so; the stew inside gets really hot.
I really like the super flaky crust; it's consistently crispy and flaky all around the pie. Pot pies come out really well out of the microwave ever since they invented that grey crisping material. The stew inside was fairly thick and featured nice big chunks of white meat chicken. The veggies were a bit sparse though, I mostly saw and tasted peas and not much of any other vegetables. I did share half with my brother though so maybe he stole them all.
Whatever the case, Claim Jumper makes a damn fine frozen pot pie. One of my favorite frozen food items for sure.

If it will help, please bring back the Claim Jumper Chicken Pot Pies, we had them at least once a week, year round.
ReplyDeleteIt is GREAT Chicken Pot pie. But, I can rarely find it in a store. Who sells it?
ReplyDeleteNone of the stores around us has them. We checked at all 3 stores you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking in all markets for these pot pies and they do not have them anywhere anymore. They are the best frozen pot pies. All the others are nothing compaired to these.
ReplyDeleteI too am bummed Claim Jumper Chicken Pot Pies (the absolute BEST) have disappeared from the shelves. A couple years ago I tried without luck to find out why my favorite (by far) Marie Callenders dinner entree was discontinued.
ReplyDeleteSouthern Fried Chicken Tenderloins
Was AWESOME. Breaded Chicken tenders with cubed red potatoes in a fantastic cream sauce and carrots (not my favorite veggie) but to-die-for in it's sweet sauce. It was one that ALWAYS seemed to scarce on the shelf so it HAD TO BE one of their most popular. Often I'd have to reach way back in the freezer to grab one.
All I can figure is that there is some a$$ at ConAgra determined to KEEP me pissed-off!
looking to buy claim jumper pot pies, cant fint them in the supermarket stores
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with all you guys! Claim Jumper Pot Pies are the best I've ever tasted in my 54 years, besides homemade. And I can't even get the stew taste right. I've been checking grocery stores in several states without avail. I'm absolutely bummed out. I guess I'll just give up trying and will quit eating chicken pot pies. Nothing can compare.
ReplyDeleteStater Brothers. Lake Forest, carries all Claim Jumper frozen pies and they are awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the chicken pot pies - not in ANY store in the Phoenix ares.
ReplyDeleteI suppose Bush will get blamed for this, too.
Come on ConAgra dump some of the funny items and return the CPP.
Or, give the recipe to Marie Calendar if you are not going to use it.
Has ConAgra even tried tasting Claim Jumper Frozen Chicken Pot Pies? If they have developed their tastebuds beyond that of a 7 yr. old, then they would know that bland Marie Calendar’s chicken pot pie DOES NOT EVEN COMPARE to Claim Jumper Frozen Chicken Pot Pies!!! I found out, as an optional method, that if you ignore their directions and cook it at ~2 hr and 10 minutes at 350 degrees this will probably be THE BEST Chicken Pot Pie you ever had!!!!!!!! Plan ahead, this pie is WELL WORTH THE WAIT. ConAgra maybe if the pie was smaller and cost less it would sell better. I can never finish Claim Jumper’s Chicken Pot Pit by myself. ConAgra please bring it back, with my optional cooking method. I believe sales will go thru the roof!!!! Roger Atkinson
ReplyDeleteI OBAMA THE CEO?!! I HILARY BEHIND THE MCRIB SCANDLE? I CANADIAN BACON PUTTING AMERICAN BACON OUT OF JOBS???!
ReplyDeleteCon Agra can not take claim jumper pot pies off the market. What are they thinking. I Obama the CEO?
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Great article, I already saved it to my favourite,
ReplyDeleteThis is the best chicken pot pie we have ever found - flaky crust, flavorful insides - not too salty, just right. Nothing else is in any way comparable. We cannot find them in the store anymore. Can we have them shipped in?
ReplyDeletei can not find the chicken pot pie at any store
ReplyDeletewhy was Claim Jumper taken out of the Raley's super market in Merced CA? I love that brand!
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS SO TERRIBLE....THE THOUGHT OF NOT EXPERIENCING A FROZEN CLAIM JUMPER CHICKEN POT PIE AGAIN HAS ME THROUGH THE ROOF...CON AGRA WHO BOUGHT THEM OUT IS DISCONTINUING THEM...WTF NOW?
ReplyDeleteNoooooooo!... These are the best!
ReplyDeleteFinally find a pot pie like mom use to make and you've taken them away!!!!!????? Bring them back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteConAgra won't even let you buy them online :-(
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thank for information, I'm looking for it for
ReplyDeletea long time,
The best pot pie out there and cant find it anywhere...I've literally gone from store to store in 2 states hoping and praying I could find some Claim Jumper pot pies !!!! But to my dismay all you can find is that nasty marie calendars....just plain nasty things that I wont even feed to my dogs!!!! I've begged my stores to order them...they obviously sell or I would have been able to buy more at the time!! Not only is con agra screwin up..but the stores have been invaded like a virus with the nasty marie calendar crap!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks not at Albertson or Vons I'll check Ralphs I was thinking is there something wrong were they call backs thanks again
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this pot pie! its the best I've ever tasted! Unfortunately for the past month I've been unable to find them in any stores. I am soooo dissappointed. I've tried to contact the company to ask about it but have not yet recieved a response.
ReplyDeletewhere can I buy claim jumper chicken pot pies. Ralph's no longer carries them
ReplyDeleteYou can't buy them anymore. ConAgra discontinued them after buying out the company that made them.
ReplyDeleteI loved them when I was 13, now im 18 and remembered them and cant find them in stores. WHAT HAPPENED!!!
ReplyDeleteConAgra bought the company that made them and then discontinued the product. They only make the dessert pies now :(
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been able to find them in Utah or is their a way to order online to have them shipped? Anyone???
ReplyDeleteI am having a hard time finding the claim jumper meat pies at any grocery store in salt lake city. It seems that they were in the stores about a year ago, and I would buy them all the time. I loved the flakey crust. Then all of a sudden, you cant buy them anywhere!
ReplyDeleteIf you read the comments you'd know they apparently discontinued this brand roughly 2 years ago.
