Review: Arby's - Jr. Roast Beef

Arby's Jr. Roast Beef sandwich
The Arby's Jr. Roast Beef is exactly that: a smaller version of the quintessential Arby's sandwich. Like the regular Roast Beef, it features Arby's signature thin-sliced, roast beef served on a toasted sesame seed bun. Of course, the smaller version also comes at a smaller price at $1.

Basically, if you like Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich, you'll like the Jr. Roast Beef. I find it a bit plain with just roast beef and the bun. Fortunately, Arby's has Horsey sauce, a mild horseradish mayo to liven up your Jr. Roast Beef.

For those of you who don't like the taste of horseradish there's also the BBQ-ish Arby's sauce. I went with the Arby's sauce as a kid, but now it's Horsey sauce all the way.

The thing I don't like about Arby's roast beef is how very thin they cut it. It makes it taste and feel like deli cut supermarket roast beef. It would be a lot nicer if they cut it thicker so you can get a good feel for the beef. It's supposed to be their specialty! Subway's roast beef feels more like roast beef and is thicker cut. Still, a small roast beef sandwich for a buck is a pretty good deal.

  2. I agree with two things: for a buck it's a good deal, and the horsey sauce is awesome. However, I find the Jr. Roast Beef just too small for me, so I usually get the regular. But I have a big appetite. For smaller appetites, the JRB is perfect.
