Frozen Friday: Hungry-Man - Boneless Pork Ribs

The McRib isn't the only boneless pork patty shaped like a mini rack of ribs, Hungry-Man's Boneless Pork Ribs feature two similar patties with barbecue sauce, home-style mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and a chocolate brownie. On first inspection, the Boneless Pork Ribs might look better than the McRib patty, mostly on account on a bit of charring before being frozen. However, there's none of the texture or flavor that charring gives so it's merely an aesthetic touch. The Boneless Pork Ribs are covered in a very sweet, vinegary barbecue sauce that's really not enjoyable and overpowers any meat flavor. The patties themselves were quite chewy which is particularly unusual with ground meat.

The highlight of the meal would have to be the corn, it almost taste fresh, was sweet, with a fresh off the cob texture.

The brownie is chocolaty, soft, moist, and not too sweet. It does, however, dry out fairly quickly as it cools so I recommend eating it first for the best taste.

The potatoes, I think, are supposed to be the same as the ones in the Boneless Fried Chicken dinner, but they looked, felt, and tasted different. They were a little yellowish, thinner in consistency, and just didn't go well with the pork patties.

While it looks a lot like a McRib patty, those looking for some McRib flavor, especially after it's gone, will be sorely disappointed with Hungry-Man's Boneless Pork Ribs.
