Review: Burger King - Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich

The other half to the Tendergrill, Burger King's Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich features a deep-fried breaded chicken breast filet served with the standard lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo sandwiched into a corn-dusted bun. It is priced in the premium sandwich range for $4.19.

I went to Burger King a bit late on a slow night which meant there weren't any Tendercrisp filets in the warmer so I had to wait a bit while they fried one up fresh. Piping hot and still a little bit oily, my Tendercrisp filet was very crispy and very juicy. It was also a bit on the salty side. I would have liked it a bit more with more seasoning beyond salt.
Beyond the chicken, the lettuce, and tomatoes were fine, and the mayo wasn't excessive. The bun was soft and not too dense or thick. The corn meal adds a little bit of texture.
Between the Tendergrill and the Tendercrisp, I tend to like fried chicken but I have to give the nod to the grilled version; it was just better seasoned and more flavorful. I would also get a McChicken over the Tendercrisp; the Tendercrisp is crispier, but the McChicken is a lot cheaper and just seasoned a lot better.
