Review: Pepperidge Farm - Oatmeal Cookies

New to Pepperidge Farm's delectable cookie collection, Oatmeal cookies are touted as "sweet & simple homestyle cookies." Actually, in Pepperidge Farm fashion they're just simply labeled "oatmeal" in all big, lowercase letters. They're part of Pepperidge Farm's Homestyle Cookies which feature classic cookies made with just a few ingredients. A 5.25-ounce bag of 15 cookies retails for around $4 but are found on sale for about $2.

I'm a big fan of oatmeal cookies and Pepperidge Farm's version is pretty good. They straddle the fine line between crisp and "I think I just chipped a tooth!" but manage to come out all right.
Tastewise, there's a deep, oat-y, brown sugar sweetness that's very basic, but also very good. They're a little like gingerbread cookies without the ginger. It does taste like something you could make at home if you were so inclined.

So I have to say, Pepperidge Farm's Oatmeal cookies delivered on the promise of "sweet & simple homestyle cookies." They aren't as fancy or distinguished as Pepperidge Farm's main line of cookies but that's sorta the point.
