Review: Burger King - French Fries

Burger King French Fries
are of the crisp and battered variety. They were $1.29 for a small order.

Well, it's more like Burger King French Fries are crispy because they are battered.

The batter is a mix containing rice flour and potato starch among other ingredients. The resulting crust is more consistently crispy than most other fast food fries but also has a grainy surface texture and isn't as potato-y as the crust found on other fries.

Burger King's fries weren't always battered; at some point they changed their French fries for more crispiness and, I suppose, distinctiveness.

To ensure their crispiness, Burger King even has a patented container for them dubbed the "Frypod," which contains a side vent so that the fries don't steam in their own heat and become soggy.

They taste more like fried batter than fried potatoes and are among my least favorite fast food fries. I don't like plain battered French fries in general but I do like the seasoned battered fries such as the ones they have at Arby's or Popeyes. I don't think many people say that Burger King makes their favorite fries, but who knows?

Still, if you don't care that much for potato flavor and just want a crispy fry, Burger King French Fries are one way to go.
