Review: Keebler - Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Peanut Butter Sticks

Keebler's Fudge Shoppe Peanut Butter Sticks now come in a new Jumbo size. Each fudge-covered wafer stick with peanut butter filling is individually wrapped and can be bought in a box of six for a retail price of around $3.49 with a sales price ranging around the $2 mark.

The elves at Keebler didn't work too hard in their tree for this one. It most reminds me of a Kit Kat Big Kat; it's just a larger version of the original. But since they are individually wrapped, it's easy to pack them as a snack.
What sets a Jumbo Peanut Butter Stick from a Big Kat, besides the peanut butter filling, is the wafer. The Jumbo Peanut Butter Sticks makes use of a lighter, less dense wafer that isn't as crisp and gives it a different mouth feel than a Kit Kat.

There's also more wafer and less chocolate than a Kit Kat which makes sense since one is a cookie and the other is a candy.
It tastes fairly good but a little bit generic in ingredient quality. Still, it's fairly light chocolaty, peanut butter snack. I would have preferred just a tad less sugar (the main ingredient) and a little more salt to better bring out the peanut butter. I'd like a peanut butter Kit Kat better though, if Nestle ever ends up making those.

  1. We here in the UK had a Kit Kat Chunky (same as Big Kat) with peanut butter. It was amazing, but ceased production in 2009; it was replaced by the Kit Kat Chunky Caramel variant. In my opinion, it was a stupid move. Here in the UK there're endless varieties of "caramel versions" of chocolate bars, yet very few Peanut Butter products... I think the UK is as mad about caramel as the US appears to be about Peanut Butter.

  2. We had peanut butter KitKats for a while over here in England. I seem to remember them being pretty good, but it was a good while back. I wonder if they'll do them again...

  3. Oh whoops - I didn't read that comment first. Silly me... I wish they'd bring them back though.

  4. And now the only peanut butter chocolates here are Reese's, and Hershey's chocolate is so vile I can't eat them. I miss the peanut butter kitkats an awful lot. Ah well; at least we get turkish delight chocolate over here!

  6. I think caramel in candy on the whole seems to be richer in UK than in the US. Our mainstream caramel is thicker and not as caramel-y.
