Frozen Friday: Swanson - Turkey Pot Pie

Swanson's Pot Pies along with Banquet's are pretty much what comes to mind when I think of pot pies. They were cheap and the ones I ate as a kid growing up. Swanson's Turkey Pot Pie keeps the same basic formula as any other pot pie with carrots, potatoes, peas, gravy, and meat (in this case turkey).

You can pick these up for about a dollar or less.

You need to be sure to cut a slit or two through the top crust before cooking these in the microwave unless you like pot pie gravy spilling out onto your microwave's interior.
Coming out of the microwave, Swanson's Turkey Pot Pie is not much to look at; the crust doesn't brown because they don't use the crisping circle on top that some pot pie brands do. The crust was a bit thin and just okay.

Inside the pot pie, the gravy was a bit liquidy but everything else was quite good. There were a fair amount of turkey meat and veggies and the gravy had a good flavor. With the gravy and turkey, it reminds me a bit of Thanksgiving.
The crust notwithstanding, Swanson's Turkey Pot Pie is pretty good especially if you're on a tight budget.
