Frozen Friday: Ben & Jerry's - Chocolate Macadamia

Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Macadamia features chocolate and vanilla ice creams swirled together with fudge covered macadamia nuts mixed in.

A pint typically retails for $4.99 but I tend to pick them up on sale at around the $2.50 mark.

A relatively new Ben & Jerry's flavor, Chocolate Macadamia is labeled as "A flavor with a mission" which basically means the macadamia nuts are "sustainably-sourced" and that they use "Fair Trade certified" cocoa and vanilla to make the ice cream.
I don't like the chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled together; I find them to be less than the sum of their parts and found myself trying to spoon only chocolate or only vanilla for stronger, purer flavors. I would like it better if Ben & Jerry's did it Neopolitan style with distinct and distinguishable layers so that I could eat one or the other or mix them together if I wanted.

I did like the chocolate and vanilla individually; the flavors were very rich and creamy.

The macadamia nuts were salted before being covered in fudge and were delicious offering a enjoyable combination of salty and sweet.
Overall, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Macadamia was good but not great; not in quality but just the flavor combination. I'd even like it more if they just went with chocolate or vanilla ice cream instead of both. Also, shouldn't it be "Chocolate Vanilla Macadamia?" Why does vanilla get the shaft?! It's not like there's noticeably more of one than the other. What's up with that Ben & Jerry's?!
