Review: Wendy's - Caramel Apple Frosty Parfait

Wendy's Caramel Frosty Parfait features a caramel swirl in Vanilla Frosty topped with all-natural brown sugar granola, fresh red and green apple slices, and real caramel for $1.99

It's been sweltering recently so despite Wendy's being a short walk from my home, my Caramel Apple Frosty Parfait melted quite a bit by the time I arrived home. Also the fact that Wendy's Frosties have a liquid milkshake consistency left me with a bit more liquid to my parfait.

Still, the shake was mostly good despite not being as solid as I would have preferred. There are sizable chunks of crunchy, tart apples and the granola added a little bit of crunchy sweetness to the mix.
You might be able to tell from the picture and the layer of unmixed caramel at the bottom that whoever made my parfait went a little crazy with the caramel sauce. The sauce was tasty enough but since it's a parfait, it's not blended together leaving me with some very, very sweet bites. Your experience may vary according to the discretion of your Wendy's server.

While I like the flavors of Wendy's Caramel Frosty Parfait, the Frosty seems to be better used in shakes rather than a frozen dessert parfait. I think something along the lines of ice cream or soft serve is more suited to the application. Or maybe they should use caramel-covered apples. That might be nice.
