New York brand Five Cheese Texas Toast is a frozen food garlic toast option topped with Asiago, Cheddar, Mozzarella, Parmesan, and Provolone cheeses.
You can pick up a 13.5-ounce box with 8 thick slices for about $3.00.
I had a little trouble with the way these were packaged as the frozen cheese stuck to the bottom of one of my slices, detaching from another and did not want to become unstuck.
I like to heat these in the toaster oven since it doesn't take too long and you get a crispness to the crust.
Despite having five different cheeses, they weren't very flavorful. Basically, I knew I was eating cheese but that's it. It wasn't very garlicky either.
Overall, New York Brand's Five Cheese Texas Toast was pretty disappointing on the flavor front. You get toast and indistinguishable melted cheese but not much more.

i love this stuff. when i'm all out of bread, i use this as a healthier option and put a few burger patties in between them
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the retailer you purchased it at didn't keep it completely frozen, which is why the cheese was all stuck together and why the carton looks water damaged. It probably sat on the loading dock for a few hours. You should definitely consider buying your frozen products somewhere else.
