Review: Taco Bell - Triple Steak Stack

Taco Bell's limited-time Triple Steak Stack is simple enough: marinated steak and cheese folded in a large piece of flatbread.

With 4.5 ounces of steak (compared to the normal 1.5 ounce), one of these will run you about $4.99.

The Triple Steak Stack is actually pretty big. Bigger than I remember the Quad Steak Burrito. Unfortunately it was also a bit soggy, having steamed itself from the moisture of all that steak and the flatbread absorbed some of it. Moist flatbread is not cool.
There was actually a lot of steak. I found myself thinking "Wow! That's a lot of steak, especially for Taco Bell." Unfortunately (sensing a trend here?), it was also heavily marinated and salted steak. I would have actually like it better if it were just plain steak over the heavy marinade.

It seemed more marinated than I remember Taco Bell steak being, or maybe the marinade was this heavy to offset the small amount you normally get.

I've mentioned before but the texture of Taco Bell steak seems more braised than anything but at least this means it's tender.
There was so much meat, I found myself wanting more cheese. More cheese and less (heavily-marinated) steak.

Ultimately, my distaste for the Triple Steak Steak comes down to proportions and balance; the Triple Steak Stack was just really off-kilter in melding its stronger and weaker flavors and that made me kinda sad.
