For the meat and cheese hamburger purist with an inclination for value, Wendy's has the Cheesy Cheddarburger. A plain junior cheeseburger (just the bun and patty, no condiments) with a scoop of gooey cheddar cheese sauce for the "Cheesy" bit.
It comes in at 99 cents a pop.
So what does it taste like? Unsurprisingly, like a plain hamburger with nacho cheese.
It's actually pretty tasty; the nacho cheese adds just enough dimension to keep the Cheesy Cheddarburger from being too plain. The bun is soft and the beef is typical fast food cooked to well-done.
Meat, cheese, bun, more cheese = good stuff especially when you just want some meat and cheese.

Basic. Affordable. Easily adjustable to eater desires by the addition of "extras," condiments, etc.
ReplyDeleteIf extra toppings etc. ot available at Wendys take the critter home and nuke briefly, if needed, to heat then add one's own garnish, extras, etc.
That route not always available so just eat the dern' thing and be glad you did not have to root through the dumpster to get one.
Before purchasing I would have to consider the cost-benefit ratio of a burger from a joint offering a double-decker buck burger.
Several variables with taste being a ways down the list with mass/weight versus price the main consideration for the Disgruntled Old Coot.
Sounds great! I usually eat my burgers plain. (Although, I like your thinking... ill refer to myself as a "purist" from now on. )
