What's on the Menu: Lent 2012 Round Up

Here it is! A round up of the limited-time seafood fair some of your favorite fast food restaurants are offering this year. I've included pictures and descriptions to the menu items that I never got around to doing a news post for and have linked the posts I did manage to write up.

Arby's - Arby's Fish Sandwich is back

Boston Market - Baked Whitefish only on Fridays and only for a limited time.

Burger King - No limited-time promos but they always have the BK Big Fish on their menu

"A crisp, golden breaded 4.3-ounce filet, tangy tartar sauce, and fresh lettuce all served on a corn-dusted bun."

Carl's Jr. - No promos but regular menu item Carl's Catch Fish Sandwich is available.

"Two Crispy Battered Fish Fillets, Tartar Sauce, Crisp Lettuce and Tomato on a Sesame Seed Bun."

Del Taco - Crispy Shrimp Tacos return (They also have fish tacos).

El Pollo Loco - new, limited-time Fish Tacos

"El Pollo Loco’s new limited time fish tacos are available individually and as a combo with a choice of any two fish tacos, a small Classic side and a small drink. Both tacos feature lightly beer battered, sustainably fished Alaskan Pollock tucked into warm corn tortillas and topped with shredded cabbage and fresh cilantro. The Classic Baja Fish Taco is drizzled with a Baja-style Lime Crema sauce and the Spicy Chipotle Fish Taco is topped with Lime Crema sauce and a smoky hot Chipotle sauce."

Hardee's - Like sister chain Carl's Jr., no promos but offers a different fish sandwich, the Fish Supreme as well as a Fish 'n' Chips Basket.

"A crispy breaded fish fillet topped with lettuce, American cheese and finished off with some tartar - all on a wheat bun."

Jack in the Box - $2.99 Fish Sandwich Combo Meal returns.

McDonald's - Filet-O-Fish Fridays - participation and price varies. McDonald's is also testing Fish McBites.

"During the lent period McDonald's will be bringing back Filet-O-Fish Friday! Every Friday and for a limited time customers will be able to enjoy a delicious Filet-O-Fish sandwich for only $1.49. If this isn't enough you will also have the option of getting a Double Filet-O-Fish sandwich for a very affordable price of $2.49."

Panda Express - New, limited-time Peppercorn Shrimp

Popeyes - Butterfly Shrimp Tackle Box does its yearly comeback.

Quiznos - Lobster & Seafood Salad Sub returns for a limited time.

"Signature lobster & seafood salad and iceberg lettuce. Served on your choice of butter-toasted Artisan Breads: Whole Grain Flatbread, White, Wheat, Rosemary Parmesan, or Chipotle Jack."  They also have a Tuna Melt.

Rubio's - Two new Shrimp Tacos. Rubio's has Hand-Battered Fish Tacos as a regular menu item that they promo with Taco Tuesdays. They also have a whole line of seafood tacos and burritos.

Subway - No Lenten limited-time offers but they have Tuna as a regular menu mainstay and this month's Featured $5 Footlong is the Jalapeno Tuna.


Togo's - Sandwich shop is featuring Lemon Pepper Tuna for this year's Lenten season. They also have plain tuna on their regular menu.

Wendy's - Premium Cod Fillet Sandwich is back for a limited time.
