Review: Taco Bell - Meximelt

Taco Bell's Meximelt is a cross between an Fresco Soft Taco and a quesadilla; it has the flour tortilla, seasoned ground beef, and fiesta salsa of a Fresco Soft Taco but the melted three cheese blend of a quesadilla

I picked one up at my local Taco Bell for $1.79.

You might want to knife and fork this one. With the fiesta salsa (or pico de gallo at most places), some fiesta salsa juice escaped with every bite. If you're eating on the go, I don't recommended this one.
The flavors are nice; the salsa, cheese, and beef combine quite well in a complementary fashion: creamy cheese plus seasoned beef plus tangy salsa works well. Granted, it's pretty much a heated soft taco but with salsa replacing the lettuce. The cheese on mine wasn't melted much; it didn't quite ooze.

Still the Meximelt's got a nice flavor profile and might serve as nice, occasional change up from the standard Taco Bell taco.

  1. Rather homely in appearance but so am I.

Of course, homely is far removed from what tastes good.

Sadly, I am not only homely but definitely lacking in good taste.

    Sniff.
