Review: Taco Bell - Volcano Taco

For those who just can't get enough spice in their Crunchy Tacos, Taco Bell has the Volcano Taco which is similar but sports a red shell of warning and a very spicy "molten hot lava sauce" that is the heart of the Volcano menu.

I bought one for $1.19 which is a little more than the 99 cent crunchy version.

I'm a big fan of the standard Taco Bell Crunchy Taco, and their hot sauce always does the trick for me when I feel like a little more spice so I'm not really the Volcano Taco's target audience.

That being said, the Volcano Taco packs some devious and serious heat. It's the kind where you're eating it and think, "Oh, this isn't so bad" and then it hits you and the tongue starts to burn.

The sauce is a slightly cheesy, tomato-y mayo that packs some wicked heat from red jalapenos. It's not bad but I prefer plain old hot sauce better. Still, it went well enough with the shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, and seasoned beef.

If you're looking for something a fair bit more spicy at Taco Bell, you should give it a go. Me? I'll stick to the original.
