A 12-ounce cup goes for $2.49 but a Memorial Day weekend promotion meant I snatched one up for $1.
Of course, the $1 Frappe and Smoothies promotion also meant my local Burger King pre-blended these into large pitchers and poured them into cups as the orders came in. Basically, this meant my smoothie slightly more liquid than standard.
I didn't really get a sense of any yogurt creaminess or tartness in my smoothie. I did get a pleasant blend of strawberry and banana. It could have been a little thicker, but that's what happens when you pre-blend and refrigerate smoothies. At least it was blended to an even consistency.
The strawberry and banana flavors could have been pronounced, but I'm fine with the flavor. It's pretty similar to McDonald's version although that had a bit more yogurt to it. Still, the BK Strawberry Banana Smoothie presents a good mix of banana and strawberry flavors in a semi-frozen drink.
I would caution against drinking one of these as a healthy drink though; it does have quite a bit of added sugar.

I don't know about other BKs. but the one I work at on the 1 dollar promotion we didn't pre mix ours. so people would come in. and order 10 at a time and we hand mixed all of them. I really hated this promotion.. lol and people are still calling in asking for the dollar smoothies.. i'm like no. (thank goodness ) e got the large premixed smoothie mix a day after the promotion. so I guess we were suppose to premix them.
ReplyDeleteAh, I can see how that would be a pain. It does take a while to mix them.
