Review: Hershey's - Zero Candy Bar

Hershey's Zero candy bar is a bit of an oddity in the candy bar world with a snow white layer of white fudge on the outside. Inside, there's a mix of caramel plus peanut and almond nougat.

It's not originally a Hershey's product but it's theirs now. I bought a bar from a local drugstore for $1.

I'm not sure why it's called a "Zero" bar; then again, I don't know why a Kit Kat is called a "Kit Kat" either. Still, the name "Zero" makes you think it might be a low-calorie, no-sugar, or something. It is none of those; just your typical but non-chocolate candy bar.
The filling looks like a chocolate nougat but it's not; it's mostly just sweet and nutty. Like almond nutty. The white fudge adds a sweet creaminess but I think I just would rather have chocolate in this instance.

The caramel just adds more sugar to an already cloyingly sweet candy bar.
The overall effect is mostly just really sweet and almond nutty. I'm not a fan. I can see people who like that distinctive almond nuttiness going to this though.
