Review: Pepperidge Farm - Goldfish Xtra Chocolatey Graham Crackers

Okay, so even on the list of products with long names, this one's a doozy: Pepperidge Farm's Xtra Chocolatey Goldfish Flavor Blasted Grahams. It's an extension of the typically savory Goldfish crackers into the realm of the sweet and chocolaty.

A 6.6-ounce bag cost me $1.50 on sale (normally $2.49).

The only thing these crackers have in common with the original Goldfish crackers is their shape and the fact that they come in similar bags. Since these are graham crackers, even the texture is different.

What they really remind me of are Nabisco's chocolate flavored Teddy Grahams. I'm not sure I could tell the two apart flavorwise but for one thing: the Goldfish chocolaty grahams are "flavor blasted" with what seems like cocoa powder and sugar (Goldfish also come in an un-"flavor blasted" chocolate graham cracker).
The end result is a crunchy, snackable, more chocolatey graham cracker that leaves a bit of dusty cocoa residue on your fingers as you eat them. They're pretty good.

  1. I eat Goldfish crackers a lot (both the savory and sweet) and I thought they were pretty good. They don't taste any different from the original chocolate grahams, besides the power. My favorite are the Cookies and Cream grahams, but they also have their flaw with the chocolate grahams overpowering the "cream" grahams.  I can't complain though, I'm still getting my smiling treat. :)
