Review: Starbucks - Cool Lime Starbucks Refresher

The Cool Lime Starbucks Refresher is basically a mix of fruit juice, mint, and a lime slice with green coffee extract (i.e. caffeine) shaken with ice.

A 12-ounce Tall sits between an iced coffee and iced latte in price at $2.95. Starbucks has the Refreshers up to a 31-ounce Trenta for $4.45.

If you're wondering why it's called a "Cool Lime Starbucks Refresher" and not just a "Cool Lime Refresher, " it's because "Starbucks Refresher" is easily trademarked... "Refresher," not so much.

In taste, Refreshers remind me very much of Vitamin Water and other similar lightly-flavored waters. The taste is a primary mint flavor followed with a note of weaker lime; like a light Mojito without the alcohol. I would prefer a bit more tartness, but it's not bad... but it's not great either.

It might not be a bad idea to include a wedge of lime for people to squeeze (or not) as they like. Options you know?

If you veer more towards full-on fruit juices, or Kool Aid, these probably aren't for you. It's more geared towards people who want a natural hit of caffeine, but don't like (or feel like) iced coffee or tea. I will note that the amount caffeine is about half as much as a similarly-sized iced coffee at Starbucks.

Personally, I'd rather go for the iced coffee.
