With that in mind, I thought I'd compare Wendy's Chocolate (Original) Frosty versus Wendy's Vanilla Frosty.
Interestingly, Wendy's Chocolate Frosty isn't just flavored with cocoa; there's some vanilla in there (or artificial vanilla flavor anyway). Cocoa flavor alone was thought to be too overpowering when paired with Wendy's burger and fries. Plain Vanilla wasn't introduced until 2006.
The Frosty's texture is what sets it apart from other frozen dairy desserts from other rival chains. It's not as liquid as a shake, but not as solid as your typical soft serve or ice cream. What gives the Frosty its unique texture are little ice crystals mixed into the Frosty. You can actually see the crystals in the Original Chocolate flavor, but they're a bit harder to make out in the Vanilla ones. The end results makes the Frosty ideal for eating with a spoon or with a French fry if you're so inclined.
The Vanilla Frosty is kinda the same, except with vanilla flavor of course. Like the chocolate version, it's not rich, but the flavor is deep and also very enjoyable.
