McDonald's has come out with a lot of menu items over the years; some good, some not so good. Today, we'll look at the
top five menu items from McDonald's that, for whatever reasons, just didn't catch on... with video footage! Thank you YouTube!
In no particular order (queue the '80s music!):
The
McDLT featuring Jason Alexander dancing (you know, George from
Seinfield):
The idea here was the separation of hot ingredients from cold until you were ready to eat. A good plan if you're getting it "to-go." No real effect if you're eating in though. Apparently, it was discontinued due to environmental concerns over styrofoam.

The
Arch Deluxe:
I think I actually tried this as a kid. From what little I remember, it didn't taste that different from what McDonald's was already offering at the time. This may have been an idea before its time. The modern analogue would be the Angus Third Pounders.
They tried
Pizza at various times. Here's a clip from Canada:
I can't imagine this being good at McDonald's. They have to revamp the entire kitchen to put together a proper pizza. There's a reason why there aren't a lot of pizza plus burger joints. I imagine they may have just been heating up frozen pies in a installed pizza oven.
The
Cheddar Melt:
This sounds pretty good. A bit like a
Cheesy Cheddar Burger at Wendy's.
Currently available in Brazil!
The
McLean Deluxe:
It's like a lean predecessor to the also-discontinued Big 'N Tasty.
