ReplyDeleteMy suspicious part of me wonders if that flavor claiming to be from smoke rising above burning slabs of thick wood actually comes from added chemicals.
And "thick" is a relative term. IF the bacon was actually placed atop the smoke rising from burning hardwood does it matter if the wood hunks are thick or thin or merely shavings or.... perhaps, in an effort to conserve and not waste any portion of a killed once-living tree casting its wonderful shade upon the living critters below and providing a home for innumerable critters medium-sized and smaller, sawdust procured from the tree processing plant?
