Review: Wendy's - Kids' Cheeseburger

Wendy's Kids' Cheeseburger is actually different from their Jr. Cheeseburger. It's basically a Jr. Cheeseburger, but without pickles or onions which makes it a really simple combination of a beef patty, American cheese, ketchup, and bun.

A Cheeseburger Kids' Meal goes for $3.69 at my local Wendy's.

The beef was actually kinda moist and the cheese was melted through. I thought the cheese might overwhelm the meat, but it wasn't the case here; they actually balanced out pretty well.

The bun was squishy soft and untoasted. Not a big deal or big difference, but I wonder whether it was by design or they just forgot. Do kids' not like toast?

I found myself missing the pickles and onions (but maybe the kids like it better that way). Apparently, mustard is not standard on either the Kid's Cheeseburger or Jr. Cheeseburger. I remember not liking mustard as a kid, but I ate it fine on McDonald's Hamburgers and probably would have enjoyed it here (I like mustard as an adult!). The ketchup was just slightly overused and threatened to overwhelm the beef and cheese.

Overall, Wendy's Kids' Cheeseburger was a bit too plain for me. I wanted just a little more variety and complexity. Wendy's played it safe with this one. I doubt the kids mind it.
