Arby's Turkey 'N Cheddar sandwich features thin-sliced roast turkey topped with a cheddar cheese sauce and Red Ranch sauce on a toasted onion roll and served hot.
My local Arbys sells them for the same price as a similar Beef 'N Cheddar at
$3.69 each.
The Turkey 'N Cheddar sandwich feels like what it is: turkey shoehorned into the Beef 'N Cheddar. The turkey doesn't quite have the flavor to hold up against the cheddar and Red Ranch sauce.
My sandwich seemed to have been flattened into a nice pancake either in the bag or while being assembled. Either way, it doesn't really exactly scream (or even whimper) "tasty."
The cheese sauce and the Red Ranch sauce both provide strong flavors that completely overwhelm the turkey and the onion roll. Onion rolls tend to have a sharp, slightly caramelized onion quality that I completely missed as it competed against the sweet and somewhat oily Red Ranch and processed-cheese-like cheddar cheese sauce.
Overall, I didn't enjoy the Turkey 'N Cheddar at all. It tasted more like Red Ranch and cheese sauce on a generic bun rather than a full-on sandwich. Arby's needs to work on new (or at least different) combinations for the new Turkey Roasters rather than just stick them in as "the other meat option" on their roast beef sandwiches.
