Review: Burger King - Gingerbread Cookie Shake

Burger King's holiday-themed Gingerbread Cookie Shake features vanilla soft serve blended with gingerbread flavored syrup and finished with whipped topping and crumbled gingersnap cookies.

A 12-ounce small-size cup cost me $2.49.

Even though I drank the shake at the restaurant, it didn't look too much like the picture except for the color. My crumbled gingersnaps were more ground than crumbled. It'd probably be nicer if the topping was mixed into the shake rather than adorning it as garnish.

The consistency of the Gingerbread Cookie Shake was smooth and easy to drink with a straw.

The taste was a bit of a three-parter: first, I tasted the creamy soft serve, then a pleasant gingerbread flavor developed, and finally, and this was the part that ruined it, there was this swift punch of cloying syrupy sweetness that was way excessive and made the whole thing hard to drink.

Whether by design or as it was made on this occasion, the over-the-top sweetness prevented me from enjoying what could have been a tasty gingerbread shake.
