Review: Popeyes - Chicken Nuggets

Popeyes' Chicken Nuggets features bite-sized pieces of chicken breast that are battered and breaded before a dip in the deep fryer.

My local Popeyes has them at 6 pieces for $1.99, but as you can see I received about 8 or so pieces.

The breading on these are not as crispy as Popeyes Chicken Tenders, but still delivered a nice crunch. The breading tends to be thicker; like a shell around the morsel of chicken breast inside. The texture reminds me of McDonald's McBites, but there's a bit more chicken to these. The chicken was moist enough, but not quite juicy. I'd imagine it would vary depending on how long they've been out of the deep fryer.

The taste is lightly seasoned and fairly neutral which is nice by itself, but great for dipping. I like them with Ranch or Honey Mustard.

Overall, Popeye's Chicken Nuggets are pretty tasty and worth a try.
