For the taste of America, and more specifically New York, Subway Japan offers two sandwich based on the Reuben and on bagels and lox.
The first is Subway's Japan's take on the classic Reuben. Of course the term "Reuben" might not mean much in Japan, so they're calling it the Beef Pastrami & Pickled Cabbage. It might not roll off the tongue as easily, but it's very descriptive!
The sandwich is offered at 450 yen (~$5.50 US) for the 6-inch version, and besides beef pastrami and pickled cabbage, is dressed with truffle oil from Italy (fancy!) along with your choice of bread and veggies.
The Smoked Salmon & Mascarpone Cheese is a little fancier than a cream cheese bagel with lox and features mascarpone cheese made of raw milk from Hokkaido. The 6-inch sub is also priced at 450 yen.
