A 1.5-quart tub tends to sell for around $4, but I received this one courtesy of Unilever.
Breyers used to be known for their all-natural ice cream and simple ingredients, but since 2006, due to cost cutting measures, most of their ice cream is no longer all-natural nor even technically ice cream (a designation that, in the U.S., requires at least 10% milk fat to be present). Hence, the term "frozen dairy dessert."
The selling point here is obviously the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups which, unlike the ice cream, is actual chocolate and quite abundant. I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and I like them here. Frozen (depending on how cold you're freeze is), they're a bit hard, but still, that peanut butter yummy goodness remains. A majority of the chunks are a pretty good size to work the jaw a couple of times.
Overall, I liked Breyers' Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Chocolate frozen dairy dessert a fair bit. The frozen dairy dessert portion is just okay, but there's lots of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup pieces and peanut butter to go around.

Looks unappetizing but curious to try it since i like reeses cups.
ReplyDeleteI had the regular version of this with the peanut butter ice cream and found it boring, I thought it would be better with chocolate. Much better than the Turkey HIll "Chocolate peanut butter cup" ice cream that uses a very fresh roasted Jif like peanut butter and contains no cups whatsoever.
